Track record

01

Online-services & live-platform leadership

Founded and scaled 2K's Online Engineering team, the multiplayer and live-services infrastructure behind AAA launches. Owned provisioning, scaling, and solution design across thousands of virtual servers, and brought AWS and Slack into the business. Later set cross-label technology strategy across 20+ title launches as VP of Technology and de-facto CTO of Private Division.

02

M&A technical diligence & integration

Primary technology partner on 10+ acquisitions and investments, including the $12.7B Zynga deal. Led technical due-diligence and integration planning, worked directly with acquired-company CTOs, and advised the board and CEO on cost, risk, and integration strategy.

Building AI, hands-on

A live system I built and run on AWS: it scrapes 30+ sources on a schedule, scores each posting through a tuned LLM against a structured candidate model, and serves the ranked results through a private dashboard. I built the whole thing, from scraping and scoring to infrastructure, cost, and security, so my read on AI stays grounded in the engineering.

Startups & scale-ups

Built and scaled startups, through growth and acquisition.

Before the executive roles I was the early technical hire at companies that grew fast and got acquired. I've seen the path from a small team to an exit from the inside, including the diligence and integration after the deal.

TaxStream → Thomson Reuters

First IT hire at a ~30-person SaaS startup. Helped scale it to 125+ people and a #51 spot on the Inc. 500, through its acquisition by Thomson Reuters. Stayed on to scale the platform to 1,600+ Fortune 500 clients and 26,000 users.

QualityHealth

Ran technical operations for consumer-health web platforms through a high-growth stage: 3M+ monthly visitors, 14M pageviews, and 60+ servers across production, staging, and disaster recovery.

About

Close to the systems, accountable to the business.

I've spent twenty years in the technology behind high-traffic consumer products, most of it in games, where the systems have to stay up under load, ship on a fixed date, and make money at scale. I started 2K's Online Engineering team and grew into VP of Technology and a de-facto CTO role, owning everything from live infrastructure to the technical diligence on acquisitions that shaped the company's portfolio.

These days I build AI directly rather than just overseeing it, which keeps my judgment grounded in how the systems actually work. I'm looking for the next place to do that, full-time or as an interim or advisory partner.

Advisory & interim

Beyond full-time roles.

I also take on interim-CTO engagements and advisory work: M&A technical diligence for PE firms and strategics, live-services and platform architecture, and AI / ML platform strategy.
